pair of oils on canvas,
Shipping along the coast at sunset and Hay barge in an estuary,
signed,
15.5 x 23.5in.
Estimate £600-800

Oil with the sunset has been cleaned, relined and restored 20 years ago or so, canvas now with a very slight outward bulge, paint a little flattened and a fine but stable craquelure running through much of the work with a fair amount of retouching showing as a darker blues in the sky running vertically up on the left side and the right, probably in line with where once stretcher marks sat. Signed lower right.
The other work retains the original canvas but paint is starting to dry out with craquelure stating to separate particularly in the white of the clouds, otherwise fair order, signed lower left
Both in modern maple veneered frames
