Lot 851 , A George I silver sugar caster, 5 oz.
A George I silver sugar caster, of baluster form, with later liner?, Samuel Welder?, London, 1724, 5.5in, 5 oz.
Estimate £200-300
There are four small dings/dents to the lower section of the main body. Possibly an old tiny repair around the base of the finial? The initials WJE are engraved on the inside of the foot rim. The engraving on the lid is becoming a little tired, in line with age and use. Marks clear although there is some blistering to the surface of the silver close to the maker's mark.
