Lot 584 , A Regency mahogany table clock, c.1810, 17in.
A Regency mahogany table clock, c.1810, with painted dial, fusee movement with anchor escapement and shouldered plates with engraved border, in an arched top case, 17in.
Estimate £200-300
Case looks to be original, slightly faded in colour and with a number of notable splits running through it, on the right hand side above the lattice work at 12 o'clock above the dial, further loss of veneer and damage near the hinge of the bezel, a replacement catch to the bezel applied to the front of the case and long split running down the left hand side of the front of the case, painted dial looks to be original although now dirty and crazed, as stated bezel now held shut in a crude latch, feet covered with verdigris, back door with a fair amount of splitting and some small losses, movement raised up unusually high with what look to be adapted brackets holding it in place so this may well be associated to the case, backplate engraved around the margins, has an adjustable pendulum but no bell along with a later key.
