A Victorian brass bound mahogany 56 hour marine chronometer, with lacquered brass gimbal mount and silvered Roman dial signed J. R. Cameron, 54 South Castle Street, Liverpool, No.1413, case 7.5in.

Mahogany outer case a good rich colour, a split running through the front panel from left to right, lacking a central cartouche to the lid with a little splitting and wear to the side of it, brass work is oxidised. Internally some damage to the inside of the left hinge which still fixes and functions, strap retaining lid in place looks later, gimbal brass work with oxidisation, silver dial looks original and untouched, some light spotting, hands look original, movement rather dirty but is going, comes with a later key.
Overall fair untouched condition in need of some cosmetic restoration.
