Oil on original canvas and apparantly untouched condition, now with a number of minor faults, canvas looks tight, a fine craquelure running throughout the work, paint is discoloured and dirty with some fine fox marks on the surface as we well on the glass, in addition there is some small flaking of paint, most notably in the sides of the darkest sheep and running across towards 3 o'clock, approx. 11 pin head size flakes of paint missing, monogrammed and dated lower right corner, should restore to good effect, under glass in probably the original gilt gesso frame.
