Some undulation of the ivory. paint very flat so catalogued as gouache but there may be some oil paint lower down. Gilt card border looks circa 1900, outer brass frame rubbed, label with title of sitter verso and on the back of the work.
Purchased from Whittington Fine Art in Aug 1998 for £520.
