A Chinese famille rose cylindrical brush pot, c.1900, finely painted with figures by a city gate with pagodas beyond and a nine column calligraphic inscription, the rim decorated with bats amid clouds, on four shaped bracket feet, 16cm diam.

typical minor glaze imperfections. Wear to gilding around top rim, scuffing and scratching to inner edge of top rim and a couple of small glaze losses to the same edge. Water residue to interior. Second gilt bound down from rim has a few glaze losses and bubbles to glaze. Few glaze imperfections around feet. Foot has a 35mm long hairline crack to glaze which does not go through. Occasional minor scratching.
