A William IV rosewood bracket timepiece, with gothic arched silvered dial signed C. Lemmon, Church Street, Croydon and unsigned single fusee movement, 13.5in.

Rosewood case of good dark colour with a fair state of polish, however a number of relatively minor faults have occured, the top left moulding has now dried out and come away but is still present, looking down at the top the back right corner a small section of veneer has been broken away, door with one or two discoloured patches at the top, a fine hairline scratch to top left and old cellotape used to reinforce the hinges, front door is locked shut, key for opening the back does not seem to operate it - it may just be a jammed lock, silver dial very worn and showing much of the coppering, does not appear to have ever been restored, left side scuffed around the escutcheon with a little bit of veneer broken away around the bottom left of the glass, right side marks where the cellotape has been applied, looks like the hinges are not longer screwed to the front door, small damage to veneer at the top of the glass with a thin sliver missing from the bottom right, back door with veneer missing from all but the hinged side, hinges are later applied to the outside of the case with patching on the inside of the door. Movement looks original and untouched, comes with a pendulum and associated key, not tested for timekeeping.
