A late Victorian silver and enamel cigarette case painted with yachts at sea, of rounded rectangular form, with engraved inscription, Henry Matthews, Birmingham, 1897, 3.25in.

Inscription reads "To Brian from Govenor and Mem Sahib with best wishes Octr 3rd, 1897".
There is a circular shaped dent to the bottom of the base and there a few other very minor dings to the case in general. The enamel is chipped towards the bottom right edge of the front panel and also at two points along the base edge. There are numerous tiny surface scratches to the enamel conducive with age and use. Marks clear.
