A pair of George III silver candlesticks, with turned tapering stems and engraved armorial, (a.f.), John Watson, Sheffield, 1796 ( one stick unmarked), 8in, weighted.

1st candlestick- Large dent to the rim of the sconce. The gadrooned decoration around the sconce is quite worn. The is a very tired engraved armorial to the base. There are a few minor bumps/dings around the side of the foot. The stem leans very slightly. Marks on sconce clear. Marks on base visible but beginning to rub.
2nd candlestick- There is a split running around approximately half the top rim of the sconce so have not attempted to remove the sconce for fear of further damage. Old solder repair to sconce rim also. Small ding to the collar and another small ding just below. Probable old repair to the base of the stem. Armorial a litte tired. No visible hallmarks.
Overall condition of both is fairly poor.
