Lot 710 , A matched pair of Victorian silver double struck scroll rosette pattern basting spoons, 12.5 oz.

A matched pair of Victorian silver double struck scroll rosette pattern basting spoons, 12.5 oz.

A matched pair of Victorian silver double struck scroll rosette pattern basting spoons, with engraved armorial, Mary Chawner, London, 1839 & George Adams, London, 1851, 12.25in, 12.5 oz.
Estimate £150-200

The George Adams spoon has some very slight wear to the spoon tip in comparison to the other spoon, otherwise the overall condition of both spoons is good conducive with age and some use. Marks clear.
There is no obvious visible evidence to show that any erasures have occured, leading us to believe the armorials are most probably contemporary with piece, however it is possible for the armorials to have been added at a later date.
