A 19th century French? silver mounted painted enamel bonbonniere modelled as the head of a Pug, the hinged lid decorated with a lady in a garden scene and countryside scene en verso, unmarked, diameter 2.25in.

Exterior- There is a large bruise/damage top the enamel to the bottom right hand corner of the mouth. There are at least five hairline cracks eminating from the buise. There are a few small chips just below the silver rim. There is some loss/damage to the enamel by the silver rim also. The rim is covering some more severe damage/loss to the enamel which is more obvious when viewed from the interior.
Interior- Large area of loss/damage to the enamel around the rim. Bruised area around chin visible. Numerous hairline cracks to the enamel in general. The lid has some minor hairline cracks, visible on the exterior and interior.
Possible old repair to the lid hinge, visible on the interior.
