Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas very tight, paint now looking a little flattened with a fine but stable craquelure running through most of the paint, one or two tiny surface dents and tiny losses of paint mainly around the darker margins, certainly in need of a clean, painted to the oval and may have been reduced slightly in size, an old label verso inscribed with the details Rowland Lloyd, Aged 16 1696, this picture is ... and goes with ... to S Lloyd ... Admiral ... born 1680 died 1767.
In a later gilt gesso scroll frame which has seen restoration to the corners which has now discoloured.
