Lot 237 , A 19th century French ormolu mounted serpentine jardiniere, 16.5in.

A 19th century French ormolu mounted serpentine jardiniere, 16.5in.

A 19th century French ormolu mounted serpentine jardiniere, with amboyna panels decorated with brass inlaid leafy scrolls, 16.5in.
Estimate £300-500

There are a few small losses to the veneers on the very inside edge of the jardiniere which would normally be covered by the tin liner, there is also a split to the base panel on the interior but an additional base panel is overlaid underneath so this is not visible unless the liner is removed. The gilt metal mounts have been cleaned, possibly re-gilded in the last 10 years or so, otherwise generally in good presentable condition.
