Oil on canvas which has been re-lined approx. 10 years ago or so, possibly due to craquelure rising to the upper left of the fishing boat which now shows in the dark sea as some fine stable craquelure, but also more certainly due to a dent or hole in the canvas running through the tower just to the right of he central tower and retouched where the pale orange tone appears along with two fine lines of craquelure, this small area of retouching shows a slight outward bulge, and also lacks the same degree of varnish sign as the rest of the paint, canvas tight and paint clean. Label verso for the Florentine Galleries of Brighton, later giltwood frame in fair order, overall fair to good condition, the smaller area of retouching might benefit from further attention.
