An unusual Chinese famille rose figural vase, Qianlong period, of rectangular baluster shape, modelled to each side with figures standing in pavilion windows and doorways, and painted to shaped reserves with flowers and insects, birds on branches and landscape vignettes, on a gilt cellular decorated coral ground, the neck applied with a pair of handles, each modelled as a figure riding on mythical fish, 36.7cm.

There is a very minor wear to the gilding and to the enamelled on the very corners of the rim. One handle has a detached and reglued head to one of the figures of the men with some slight losses to his hat, on one side of the vase there are two figures standing in a doorway, one of the figures of a man holding a feather fan has losses to the fingers on his right hand, slight firing cracks to the base only visible from underneath, the vase sits comfortably on its foot but one end of the foot is slightly curved upward in the manufacture, otherwise in good condition.
