Two Coalport outside decorated dessert plates, c.1810, each plate decorated to the centre with a scene of exotic birds reserved within a gilt fleur-de-lys border on a royal blue ground, the rims gilt-edged and further decorated with gilt scrolling motifs, 21.5cm

Some wear to the gilding on both plates, in particularly on the rim and the fleur-de-lys circular gilt band. some wear to the polychrome enamel painted circular panels. During the manufacture, the blue glaze has not taken uniformly and there are translucent patches to the blue glaze, typical occasional light surface scratching and black speckling to the underside of the plate.
