Attributed to Michael Dahl (1646-1743)
oil on canvas,
Portrait of a lady seated in a blue dress with flowers in her hair,
36 x 28in.
Estimate £2,000-3,000

Oil on canvas relined many years ago with the stamp of Leedham on the stretcher, canvas still tight perhaps the slightest hint of an outward bulge at the middle, paint surface looking a little dirty with fine but stable craquelure running through the skin tones and brown background but less evidently through the blue of the dress, some retouching of the skin tones in her neck where craquelure presumably has appeared in the past, also a few small touches in her left hand, in a fairly modern giltwood frame which is in good order.
Comes for sale from a local deceased estate.
