Oil obn canvas, cleaned, relined and restored within the past ten years or so.
Canvas still tight.
Paint a little dirty with a fine craquelure throughout. Stretcher marks showing. A few small dents to the work with retouching notably in the side of the horse.
Paint around the horse (notably the sky) looking a little thin and showing the weave of the canvas.
Retouched in the lower left corner.
Indistinctly signed and dated 1797? lower right.
Overall a decorative work that will need some minor attention. Modern gilt frame.
