Oil on original canvas in good tight condition. paint rather dirty with some fine lines of creasing running throughout the work along with some craquelure in the thicker painted flesh tones. Rather shiny scattered patches of varnish.
Inscribed verso on canvas and stretcher with attribution and title.
Old depository label verso but no other inscriptions.
Victorian gilt gesso frame has been re-painted and restored in the corners.
Provenance; deceased estate - elderly collector of classical themed material.
