A Chinese blue silk man’s dragon robe, jifu, 19th century, finely embroidered on the front and back in satin stitch and couched gold thread with nine five-clawed dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst dense trialling scrolls of five coloured clouds interspersed with bats and the Eight Buddhist Emblems, and central twin peaches picked out in Peking knot and above the terrestrial diagram and lishui stripes at the hem, interspersed with blossoming peonies, horse shoe shaped cuffs, approximately 143cm long replacement sections to sleeves, unpicked threads

Condition:
There are unpicked threads to some of the dragons, some restitching under the armpits, replacement banded black satin sections to the sleeves, typical wear around the collar, the sleeves and to the hem, light staining to the lining, otherwise in reasonable condition.
