This piece has been repolished within the past 10 years or so, the oval stringing inlaid to the top looks like a later embellishments, there are some old cracks on the left hand side that have been restored at some point, there is also a circular disc inlet to the oval at approximately 7 o'clock, obviously restoring some sort of damage, fronts of the drawers are all good, handles certainly using the original holes and may well actually be the originals, the top drawer is fitted with a baize lined brushing slide and various compartments and a central hinged mirror which again have been repolished but look to be original, some small dents and knocks to the front edges of the feet, left hand side has a vertical split running down through it, right hand side is good.
