An impressive early Victorian Irish silver two handled oval soup tureen and cover, by Patrick Loughlin, hallmarked Dublin 1838, the shaped domed cover with large finial in the form of a Poppy seed handle, which sits on a bed of Poppy leaves, the body with gadrooned border and applied with two scroll cartouches, on flower filled cast cornucopia legs, on claw and ball feet, length 364mm, weight 91.7oz/2852grms.

Good condition, commensurate with age. Clear marks but with some slight rubbing. Lid fits well and there is a small dent to the interior rim of the lid.
