Ruth Sulke - two studio glazed stoneware ‘mushroom’ vases, together with a small studio pottery jardiniere, tallest 21cm Literature- Ruth Sulke is a Hong Kong ceramic artist. In the 1960s-70s she studied the Japanese art of ikebana (flower arranging) and her early ceramics were designed for this use. Ruth’s work developed into ceramic sculpture in the late 1970-1980s. Her work was exhibited in the 1980s at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Contemporary Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition, University of Hong Kong and Saegusa Gallery, Tokyo.

Condition:
Smaller mushroom has several shallow chips to the rim. Non mushroom piece has a deeper chip to rim with a hairline crack emanating from it.
