Condition:
Base glue-repaired, visible in image with an engraved white metal mount applied around the side to strengthen and secure the repair; medal lacks a backing to seal in the medal and hide the unsightly (but original) glue; medal is stable; closes tightly; hinge at rear of top lifting a little and has an old repair; inlaid detail to top not gilt-metal but an unhallmarked yellow metal. Medal produced in 1801 to commemorate a short-lived peace treaty with France.
