An early Victorian mother of pearl inlaid tortoiseshell tea caddy, of bowfronted form, the underside stamped W. Tompson Birmh, 7in.

Outer case overall in very good condition, one fine hairline crack showing at the front edge of the lid and the very hint of raising of the pewter stringing at the left hand corner of the lid, but all inlay in tact and tortoiseshell in a good state of repair, back left foot detached but present, front left foot with a crack running through it, internal lids in good order but both ivory knob handles have been broken although are still with the piece, internal silver lining is a later replacement. Green paper to the base of the caddy looks original and is stamped W? Thompson Birmh
