A Chinese Imperial silk gauze and metal thread 'nine dragon' summer robe, late 19th / early 20th century, the dragon amid scrolling clouds and auspicious objects above celestial rocks and chevron bands, gilt and black thread key fret borders, replacement lining and alterations to sleeves

There is re-modelling to the robe, the sleeves are later and the horseshoe shaped cuffs may have later borders, the border around the collar again may be later, the lining to the robe is later, there is discolouration to the gauze ground around the arms, and on the back around the upper dragon, some of the threads to the chevron band have come unpicked in places particularly at the back.
