This lot has come for sale from the Oxfam Charity - they had shown it to an "art expert" who came up with the attribution to which based on the style of the work we have agreed. In addition at some point in the past, presumambly when they were framed, someone has inscribed Beatrix Potter Sketches of Wild Orchids on the back of the frames. Both works are dirty and faded and partially stuck down to the card backing.
Please refer to photographs at www.gorringes.co.uk for the works out of the frames, now housed in rather grubby cream card mounts and plain gilt frames.
Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid. All transactions are governed by Gorringes Conditions of Sale.
