Two 1880-1920 Japanese green silk damask Kariginu, ‘hunting cloth’ robes, worn not as ‘hunting robes’ at this period, but as day wear for high ranking male Imperial Court nobles, traditionally worn with a sash at the waist and the sleeve cords pulled at wrists as cuffs. 147cm long. Condition - some fading to the damask and wear on edges on both robes, as expected from use.
