A Chinese archaistic bronze temple bell, and reticulated hardwood stand, Qing dynasty, the polished bronze bell cast with the eight trigrams, a band of taotie masks, leiwen scrolls and lappets, the wood stand carved and pierced throughout with confronting dragons chasing a flaming pearl, total height 55.6cm

Condition:
The bell itself has typical minor casting imperfections and has been later polished. The wood stand has loose spandrel carvings, two of which are missing the ball shaped support. There are a couple of cracks to the apron of the stand, otherwise in reasonable condition.
