A mid 19th century French ormolu mantel clock, modelled with a seated philosopher holding a tablet inscribed Ajax Furieux, a scroll at his feet inscribed La Mort d'Hercule, with silvered Roman dial and Pons silk suspension eight day movement, width 54cm, height 60cm

Condition:
Overall the ormolu of a rich bright tone but now rather dusty with some oxidisation spots notably to the top of his leg, dial looks original but equally oxidised. Movement looks to be untouched rather neglected condition and appears not to be going but has no bell, no pendulum and no key so hard to test for sure.
