A Chinese wucai baluster vase, Transitional period c.1640, painted with the figure of an immortal holding a bow, possibly Zhang Xian, and attendants, floating on clouds amid rockwork and trees, fourteen character inscription, the unglazed base with iron red inscribed character, H.28cm, restorations

There is sprayed restoration to the neck of the vase where a section of the rim has been out and put back in, there is possibly a small rebuilt section, visible on the interior of the vase are a number of star cracks which have been sprayed over on the exterior, there is some repainting to the calligraphy on one side, possibly some filler to two small holes in the body, there is some occasional wear to the enamel colours and typical minor scratching to the glaze.
