Joseph R. Losada. A Victorian 2 1/2 day marine chronometer, with brass mounted rosewood case and silvered Roman dial with subsidiary seconds, signed J.R. Losada, 281 Regents Street, London, no.1765, (Jose Losada recorded at this address 1849-1858) 7in.

Overall case is heavily sun bleached with some damp staining, ivory plaque to the front has been broken on the left side, escutcheon and original case numbering plaque missing, internally case retains its strong colour, no glazing to the upper section, brass work has some wear to the lacquering, dial a little discoloured, movement in good clean condition with spotted backplate and blued steel helical spring, movement is going but not tested for timekeeping.
Comes with original winding key which is two screws acting as a later repair, comes with a 1954 timekeeping certificate from H G Blair & Co.
