A Chinese huanghuali kang table, 18th/19th century, l. 29.5in., w. 17.25in., h. 12in., repairs

A Chinese huanghuali kang table, 18th/19th century, the rectangular top above a bat and cloud carved frieze, on four shaped legs with key fret scrolled knees and ruyi head feet, l. 29.5in., w. 17.25in., h. 12in., repairs
Estimate £600-800

Provenance: Property of a Lady of title, UK, acquired in Beijing in the 1960s.

There is considerable restoration to the table which has possibly been reduced in size slightly with evidence of replacement supports to the top and to the two end friezes and possibly a front frieze, the legs have various repairs and spliced areas to them, the moulding on the uprights of the legs where it goes around and joins the apron does not quite line up probably because the length of the frieze has been reduced slightly. There is also a very slight insert of wood around the top.
