Two Japanese ivory groups of bijin, early 20th century, the first of a lady holding a fan and pulling her robes away from a frog clambering at her feet, two character signature to a red lacquer seal, 23cm., the second of a lady with a child on her back, engraved two character signature to base, 19cm.

Figure of the lady holding fan has a few age cracks to the ivory around the base which is most noticeably an open crack when viewed from beneath, otherwise good.
The second of a lady and child has fine age cracks.
