Humphrey Hopper (1765-1844). A pair of bronzed plaster figural lamps, each modelled as a classical female holding an urn, with the remains of a bronze light fitting, both on a circular plinth base, one with inscribed marks to the back of the robe and dated September 18th 1807, the other marked to the circular base and dated July 6th 1807, the figures 30in. excl. light fitting
Estimate £1,500-2,000
First lamp, lady facing to her left, minor chips and nibbles around her hair and some of the other high points, small repaired chip to the fold of her robes on her back, small chips and marks around the base, a small chip to one of the folds down the front by her left thigh, this has been coloured in, part of her right fore finger has been re-glued, overall generally reasonable with minor faults as you would expect with plaster figures of this age.
Second figure, lady facing to her right, looks like her head may have been off and restored, other minor chips and areas of wear in places particularly around the circular plinth base, generally in similar condition to its companion figure.
