A fine and unusual gem-set, pearl, enamel and diamond butterfly brooch, circa 1900, its thorax set with a cushion-shaped diamond weighing approximately 0.30 carats, its eyes set with circular-cut rubies, a pearl measuring approximately 7.4 x 7.4 x 12mm forming its abdomen, its wings applied with iridescent enamel with a matte finish, set with clusters of cushion-shaped rubies, demantoid garnets and sapphires, within borders of single-cut diamonds, mounted in gold and platinum, wingspan 6cm, gross weight approximately 19 grams

Very good condition, screw in brooch fitting soldered. Pearl untested, may be later replaced. Gold chain unmarked, 4 grams. Nicely made.
