A substantial George III mahogany balloon-shaped musical bracket clock by George Bennett, Greenwich, ‘Clockmaker to the Royal Observatory’, signed and dated A.D. 1763 on an inset enamel panel above the dial, ormolu mounts and curved pad top, pierced brass fretwork panels to the sides with brass carrying handles above, gilt dial with inset enamelled numerals and separate seconds dial, painted dial plate with automaton scene within the arched top, including moving rowing boats, windmill with turning sails, and horse and cart with miller delivering grain to the windmill, three train eight day fusee movement with anchor escapement and substantial engraved back plate, four pillar movement striking on a bell and chiming on a further thirteen bells, with tune selector to the dial featuring six alternative airs, pull repeat and strike & chime/silent selector, 56.5cm high
