Lot 395 , Collingwood & Co., a diamond brooch, circa 1920
Collingwood & Co., a diamond brooch, circa 1920, designed as a stylised bow, pavé-set with circular-cut diamonds, mounted in openwork platinum with millegrain borders, length 3.7cm, fitted case stamped Collingwood & Co.
£200-300
Condition:
Very pretty and nice quality. One side of the bow has been soldered towards the central knot - it's likely that it was previously bent. The metal is slightly blackened and the cushion-shaped diamonds are replacements. Not immediately obvious - some extra darkening to metal but overall it's a beautiful jewel, nicely made and in good condition, diamonds totalling approximately 1.00 carat. Gross weight 5 grams.
