A large unusual Regency framed silk worked embroidery depicting Henry VIII in court with three courtiers and a blackamoor servant holding the dress of a young female courtier as she enters, worked mainly in long stem stitch with intricate detail in the costumes and decor of the chamber. The leaves of the tree embroidered in a knot stitch having a stump work effect. All six faces, hands and upper bodies of the female courtiers in silk finely water coloured and tinted, 47.5cm wide x 66.5cm high. Condition - embroidery good colour and condition, the painted and tinted faces good. Frame needs cleaning.
