A pair of Sevres porcelain green ground bowls, c.1773, each painted to the interior and exterior with bouquets of flowers by Jean-Jacques Pierre the younger (1763-98), within gilt flower and foliate cartouches joined by floral garlands on an apple green ground, the rims with late 18th century flower and foliate ormolu mounts, interlaced L marks, date code for 1773, painter's mark and gilder's marks for Etienne-Henri Le Guay (1749-96) and Vandé (1753-79), and moulder's mark LV, diameter incl. mounts 24cm (9.5in.), some decoration possibly later

Both bowls have some scratching to the interior particularly to the green ground and some occasional wear to the gilding, occasional scratching to the exterior, one bowl in particular has some black fritting to the glaze to the reserves and to the base, in reasonable condition with no restoration chips or cracks. The mounts have a screw fixing which we have carefully removed and the rims have some minor wear and the odd minor nick to the edge beneath the mounts. Some scratching and scuffing to the decoration inside and out. The is some fine scratching to the green ground but the white areas are the reflection of the photography lights
Mounts are 19th century.
We believe the flower painting is correcnt but is is possible that the green ground and gilding has been added in the 19th century to both bowls, no restorations.
