A late 18th/early 19th century Norwegian parcel gilt silver peg tankard, with applied and embossed foliate decoration, the lid with pierced foliate centre and thumbpiece modelled as a bird feeding, with scroll handle, on three melon shaped feet, marks on base, Bergen, circa 1790-1812, height 14.5cm, 18oz.

Quite tarnished. There is a split to the applied decoration on the main body, at the top by one of the flower heads and there is part of a leaf? missing by the top left of the handle. Handle a little loose in situ. Small hole to the top of the handle under the hinge. Minor wear to the decoration in places, commensurate with age and some use. Minor dits to the handle, in general. Marks on base, some a little indistinct.
