A fine Japanese boxwood okimono of the Sennin Handaka Sonja with a dragon clambering on his back, 19th century, signed Masakazu, the sennin and dragon with mother of pearl and horn inset eyes, the figure holding the pearl or jewel in his hands, two character signature to an engraved ivory tablet, 16.5cm high

The dragon has lost the tips of both of its horns and there is a possible loss to the bottom of the flowing ribbon on the lower left hand side at the hem of his robes, there is a tiny crackle inclusion at the collar bone of the figure, otherwise in good condition.
