Lot 78 , A good Thomas Webb & Sons, Stourbridge cameo glass scent bottle or flask, 22cm
A good Thomas Webb & Sons, Stourbridge cameo glass scent bottle or flask, of torpedo form, finely cut in white glass overlay with insects including a dragonfly, butterflies, a moth, beetles and a bee, on a turquoise ground, the silver screw top mount by Sampson Mordan & Co, 1887, 22cm
Estimate £800-1,200
Occasional minor scuffs to the glass. Slight tarnish to the silver top which is engraved with three Gothic script initials 'NEC' and also engraved with the retailer's mark 'Hardy Bros. Sydney' so presumably made for the Australian market. Otherwise in good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks .
The scuffs will probably remove with a light clean, you shouldn't polish a satin ground as it would alter the finish.
