Lot 233 , An 18th century Chinese blue and white boys jar, height 27cm incl. base
An 18th century Chinese blue and white 'boys' jar, mounted as a lamp height 27cm incl. base
Estimate £200-300
The base has a drilled hole. This was probably a yen-yen vase which has had its neck removed and a replacement unglazed neck from another old jar cleverly inset. The wood stand and cover have also been drilled for the light fitting. There is scuffing and scratching to the glaze and some grubbiness in places.
The light fitting is present and can be easily re-attached.
The wires have been cut.
