A German five double course Guitar, third quarter 17th century and later, possibly made by Fleicher the head with shaped outline bearing ten fretted ivory pegs, the face of the head and neck with ebony and ivory floral inlay, the back of the head and neck with alternating ebony and ivory string banding, the table inset with a three-tier architectural rose, the ebony bridge flanked by freted floral moustaches, 92cm long

This piece looks to have seen some extensive restoration, condition overall now looks to be very good, there is some fair wear to the back of the instrument and a small split at the top of the back, light cracking within the ivory striping, catalogued as 17th century and later and we do recommend inspection and the buyers satisfy themselves as to the extend of the originality to this piece, we have additional photographs and X rays that come with it showing the inside which includes extensive inscriptions, but also showing the original condition, it should be noted that the rosette is a later replacement, please see our additional photographs including those of the X rays.
Looks like the face and ivory rosette have been replaced, other parts appear to be largely original.
