A Victorian brass bound pollard oak partners desk, W.5ft 3in. D.3ft H.2ft 6in.

A Victorian brass bound pollard oak partner's desk, with green skiver, six frieze drawers and four pedestal doors, enclosing internal fittings, W.5ft 3in. D.3ft H.2ft 6in.
Estimate £600-800

This desk in the main retains a rich mid to dark golden brown colour, however one side has clearly faced a window and is sun bleached, and will require repolishing, green skiver is a later replacement and showing fair wear and tear with some spotting and stains, margin around this again shows light scuffing with marks at the edge where some one typically sat at it, fine cracks running though the veneers at the corners of the top, brass mounted rim is oxidised with some dirt marking, brass knob handles look original, locks are all engraved Patent, no key present. Brass knobs to the doors are later, doors enclose four mahogany drawers with turned knob handles, which are opposed by four mahogany fronted sliding trays, the opposite side of the desk the cupboard doors enclose vacant interiors. Essentially overall in good condition but for the need of a repolish to one side and some attention being paid to the later knob handles to the cupboards.
