Lot 229 , A Lenox Ceramic Art Company golf three handled mug, c.1905, height 6.5in., rim crack
A Lenox Ceramic Art Company golf three handled mug, c.1905, signed W. Clayton, painted in green enamels with a male and female golfer and a clubhouse, the sterling silver mount embossed with roses, printed mark to base, height 6.5in., rim crack
Estimate £200-300
The silver mounted rim is tarnished with some silver polish residue, some of the leaves on the edge are slightly bent upwards with possibly the odd loss to the tip of a leaf, the porcelain body has a hairline crack extending downward from the rim, most evident on the interior which is exactly in line with one of the handles between the image of the clubhouse and the gentleman golfer, this is very difficult to see on the exterior and there is a minute glaze flake on the tip of the leaf capping of one of the handles, otherwise in good condition.
