Two Chinese enamelled porcelain figures, early 20th century, the first a fisherman holding a large fish over his shoulder, 26.5cm, loss to tail, the second a lady in floral robes holding a book with a hollow tree stump, possibly for jos-sticks, 30.3cm, chip to base

Provenance: William Moule and his family, who were Christian missionaries in Ningpo (Ningbo) and Shanghai in the late 19th and early 20th century; thence by descent.

The figure of a fisherman has chip losses to the tail of the fish and a shallow chip to the left small toe of the fisherman, the figure of a lady reading has a chip to the base of the tree she is leaning against and some slight flaking to the black enamel on her hair. Otherwise in good condition.
