A pair of large Chinese famille rose baluster jars and covers, late 19th / early 20th century, each painted with butterflies amid rockwork and blossoming trees, brocade pattern borders, later converted to lamps with gilt metal mounts, 80.5cm to top of brass fittings

Both vases have obviously been drilled to the bases and the tops of the covers for the electric fittings, both have some wear to the gilding on the cover and some occasional fritting and minor glaze faults, the first lamp / vase has some small shallow glaze chips to the edge of the cover, we cannot comment on whether there is any damage to the mounted rims and bases, the second vase has a hairline crack running from the shoulder through one of the butterflies, we cannot comment on the rims where they have been mounted, the height of the jars and covers excluding the fittings is approx. 43cm.
